New Business visa attracts investors to Australia

A new business visa has been introduced for investors who are willing to contribute $5 million into the Australian economy.

Migrants can be granted a 4 year visa and will have to invest $5 million into state based companies including government bonds, agri-businesses, infrastructure projects and start-up companies.

The visa can be extended by two years with a maximum of 2 extension periods and the visa is not subject to a points test, age restriction or IELTS test requirement.

The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, Chris Bowen said that the new visa was important for Australia’s regional competitiveness to attract, “high wealth and high skilled migrants and the capital that comes with them.”
