DIBP changes from 1 July

DIBP (Australian government/immigration) has made changes to its visa system as of 1 July 2017.  One of the main changes is the introduction of permanent residency pathway for New Zealand citizens who live in Australia.  This pathway is included as a stream of the Skilled independent migration visa subclass 189.  Visa application fees have also been increased.  There has also been a change to the definition of “Eligible New Zealand citizen”, important if you being sponsored by a partner/relative who is a New Zealand citizen. More information is available on the DIBP website.
